Liberty Crack 5.11 C2, Grade V

Here’s a great trip report of this amazing climb!

Liberty Crack 5.11- C2, 12 pitches, 1200′, Grade V, on Liberty Bell has been on my to-do list for 20+ yrs, ever since I laid eyes on it and we were rained off before leaving the parking lot.  At last John invited me to climb it fast and light – this would be his 5th or 6th ascent of LC.  We launched at 7:30am and topped out at 2 pm!  After rapping and hiking over to the base of North Early Winter Spire we re-hydrated and climbed West Face 5.11-, 6 pitches, Grade III.

One grade V and a grade III, 18 pitches, 2000′ and all during daylight hours – not too bad for a couple guys in their 40’s…

Car-to-car with daylight to spare!
